It’s been a great start to SP Roulers’ first full season on OCM. Most races we entered with our a-team, and ambitions of results, we were able to achieve a podium. More often than not, the podium was a first place victory. The team has already found its way to division 6, about 2 months after its founding, thanks in part to the string of good victories and results.
However, the biggest result for the team was achieved over the weekend, and whilst it may not be the best in terms of prize money, it certainly has its prestige, and shows the team can achieve what it sets out to.
Going into the Tour of Sanreizan, the team was in great racing form. Darren Bradman, and more importantly, captain Shane McGregor were both in top form. Manager SP was being cautious to overstate the team potential, and under deliver, telling the riders just to do what they have been doing, and give it their best shot. Maybe Shane would win a stage, maybe we’d achieve a podium in the sprint classification.
By the end of the tour, the team delivered everything and more, as they gave it their best effort all the way through. McGregor was able to win both sprint stages, and his lead for the sprint classification was never really in doubt after the team effort of the first stage, with SP Roulers showing the lead out for McGregor was the one the others would be chasing. Shane didn’t even need to win the final sprint stage for the classification win, but once again, he was never really challenged for the win.
Division 6 and upwards will start to offer more challenges for the team moving forward, but to confidently obtain a comprehensive palmarè so soon into the team history is a very good sign of things to come.

Congratulations! Very impressive start too!!
Congratulations, hopefully you will be able to find decent cheap riders to build up a team.
Just had a look at the hire list and found a couple of trained riders within the budget that might help in the interim. It’s a risk spending most of my money I had banked up, but I think it’ll pay off, and I have a couple of riders I can release if I’m desperate for cash :)
You're right, but at least you have some money to build on from these results.
Thanks ???? although I don’t think the luck will last much longer, Shane McGregor won’t be a good captain for much longer sadly. Hopefully luck can get us into division 5 or 4 even.
Congratulations for the great start!
